The secret behind the soap…
#1 - The main ingredient in all of our soap bars is Olive Oil. Although
known more today for it’s health benefits olive oil has been used as a
beauty product since ancient times – not surprising when you consider its
light texture and ability to keep skin feeling super soft and in great
condition.
#2 - We’re passionate about our soap and spend more hours than we could
possibly admit experimenting with different combinations of ingredients. We
’re often asked where our ideas come from – sometimes they can begin with a
memory, a favourite oil and sometimes just a creative curiosity to find what
out what works.
#3 - You won’t find an artificial colour or fragrance in any of our
products – we use custom blends of pure essential oils to provide natural
scent and therapeutic value and spoonfuls of herbs, spices and flowers to
provide our soap bars with natural colour and texture.
#4 - We add luxurious oils and butters to every batch of soap at a specific
time in the soap making process called trace (where saponification is
underway and the soap has thickened) – this makes sure that they remain
complete and that none of their moisturising properties are lost.
#5 – Glycerine is naturally produced during the soapmaking process and is
heavenly for your skin – it helps to attract and retain moisture helping to
keep it baby soft. It’s common for commercial soap makers to remove it from
their soap and sell it on for other uses but we keep it where it belongs and
stir every last drop back into our bars.
#6 - We make, cut and wrap every bar by hand from our workshop in
Derbyshire – the level of love and attention we give every bar is second to
none and makes each one that extra bit special…
